Princess…

Princess was the best Goose EVER! She loved to be carried around and if a handy lap was vacant, she would stand patiently until someone picked her up. One of her most charming characteristics – standing on our front porch while gazing through the side-light window flanking the front door – honking incessantly until we came out with her daily treats of lettuce and meal worms. She had quite a charismatic personality and we adored her.

The only evidence that something was wrong was when she developed a slight limp. But, that slight limp turned into something so painful that she eventually lost her ability to walk. No broken bones or torn muscles were ever detected but the Avian vet suspected an internal tumor but she could find nothing during the exam to substantiate her suspicion. Anti-inflammatory meds were prescribed and we returned to the ranch. Two days later, she was discovered dead in her coop.
